Crown House Day Centre for people with Learning Disabilities
Crown House is a light, spacious building situated in central Lowestoft. Downstairs is a lounge area, art and craft area, kitchen and washroom facilities for the Disabled person. Upstairs is an aerobic studio which doubles as a music room. Crown House is used as a base to access the community by people with learning disabilities or with challenging behaviour.
Indoor activities are provided for those wishing to remain indoors. Three company vehicles are available for local days out or trips further a field. Horse riding, swimming, a gym, beauty therapies, hairdressing, ten pin bowling, the beach and local parks are within a five minute walk. The local shopping centre, cafes and restaurants are a short walk away. Some service users are supported to attend the local college. Service users are supported to use available activities and reach goals in independent living skills. Most users are supported one to one, but more independent users are supported within a group with one staff member.
We currently have a very experienced and dedicated team of staff to support service users. Training is provided to ensure staff are appropriately skilled to meet the needs of the service users.
